In November this year the UK will host the United Nations Climate Change Conference – Conference of the Parties 26 (COP26). The Executive Board of Commonwealth Chemistry recognises the urgency for action on climate change and the role of chemistry in tackling issues related to climate change. While we acknowledge that climate change affects the whole planet, Commonwealth nations are among those most affected.
In 2021 we hold our first, virtual Annual General Meeting during which President Elect, Vicki Gardiner, will be installed as the first President of Commonwealth Chemistry. The meeting will take place in a virtual format.
The Congress programme includes panel discussions on the importance of the role of the Commonwealth in overcoming the SDGs and career pathways together with scientific sessions featuring high profile speakers across six key themes.
