The Indian Chemical Society is organizing 100 Years of Chemistry – Recognition, Awards and Conference and Celebration of Achievements of Indian Chemical Industries, which is scheduled between 6th -7th Nov 2024 at Nehru Centre, Worli, Mumbai. The theme for the Entire Year’s Conferences: The Net Zero Goal &, Sustainability: Role of Chemical Sciences in Green Energy, Circular Economy, and Prosperity of India.

Indian Chemical Society

Indian Chemical Society, a premier Scientific Society of India, was founded on May 9, 1924, as the National Forum for the community of chemists and members of allied disciplines in the country. Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray, the doyen of Indian Chemists, was the first President of this registered society. The Society boasts of over 3000 Fellows on its scroll including 8 Nobel Laureates, a Bharat Ratna, and several Padma Vibhushan, Padmabhushan and Padma Shri awardees. This society has entered its centennial from May 9, 2024.

Indian Chemical Society felicitated Bharat Ratna Prof. C. N. R. Rao as the “The Chemist of the Century” on Jan 23rd 2024 in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the field of Chemistry.
