This course is suitable for students, early career chemists and professionals in higher education who would like to learn the basics of writing a grant proposal to receive funding for an activity or project.
International Network for Advancing Science and Policy (INASP) have made this introductory course available free of charge. This is a self-study tutorial. You can join any time and stay enrolled in the tutorial for as long as you would like. The course should take 4 – 6 hours to complete and a certificate will be generated automatically once the completion criteria have been met.
The core resources and activities in this course are text-based, therefore a fast internet connection is not required. There are some optional videos for which a fast connection would be useful. However it is possible to complete the course without watching the videos.
On completion of the tutorial, you will have developed or improved your skills in:
- carrying out essential preparatory steps before you write a grant proposal, including searching for grant opportunities
- preparing a suitable CV as a supplement to a grant proposal
- writing a well-structured grant proposal
- using an effective writing style in a grant proposal.
