Commonwealth Chemistry Webinar: Accessing National Laboratory Facilities

This panel discussion aims to expand access to physical facilities and expert person resources at National Laboratories and Research Centers globally.

Speakers:

  • Dr Qun Shen, National Synchrotron Light Source II Deputy Director for Science, Brookhaven National Laboratory, USA
  • Dr Aaron Stein, Center for Functional Nanomaterials Chief of Staff, Brookhaven National Laboratory, USA
  • Moderator: Dr Michael Forde, University of the West Indies St Augustine Campus, Trinidad and Tobago

Themes for the panel discussion:

To meet the above objectives, the panel discussion will address the following:

  • Provide a general overview of National Laboratory or Research Centers and their mission;
  • Provide a specific overview of Research Facilities – examples include synchrotron, general laboratories, computational resources, etc.;
  • Showcase examples and case studies about how these facilities can help your research;
  • An overview of access and funding routes for these facilities;
  • Top tips and how to write proposals to access these facilities.

Whilst this event is free to attend, registration is essential, as all attendees will need a log-in for access to the webinar platform.
