Chemistry for sustainable development in Africa

The South African Chemical Institute (SACI) organising committee would like to welcome you to the heart of the South African Winelands, Stellenbosch, for the 44th South African Chemical Institute’s National Convention.

The conference will be held at Stellenbosch University in the heart of the picturesque winelands town of Stellenbosch. This modern venue with its rich history and world class academic excellence, provides a superb setting conducive to intellectual and social exchanges. With beautiful surroundingshistoric buildings, and world-class food, the organising committee is proud to welcome you to our home province and the makings of a conference that will be remembered for years to come.

As chemists we know that we can deliver solutions that will further the sustainable development of not only South Africa, but our beloved African continent. From clean water to combatting diseases, from novel materials to new technologies, from our natural resources to our cutting edge science, come, come and contribute, network and be inspired by our beautiful science and let us keep moving forward with our sustainable development goals.

This will be an in person meeting with plenary and parallel sessions spanning 5 days covering all aspects of chemistry.

We are also pleased to announce that this event is part of the International Year of Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development – IYBSSD 2022.
