Commonwealth Chemistry joins The Commonwealth Family as an Accredited Organisation

Commonwealth Chemistry, the Federation of Commonwealth Chemical Sciences Societies, is proud to announce becoming a Commonwealth Accredited Organisation

This prestigious recognition by The Commonwealth marks a significant milestone in Commonwealth Chemistry’s mission to promote collaboration and advance the chemical sciences for the benefit of the Commonwealth nations and their people.

Commonwealth Chemistry, established in 2020, has rapidly become a leading voice in fostering international cooperation among chemical scientists and professionals in related fields. The accreditation acknowledges the Federation’s vital role in addressing global challenges through scientific innovation and knowledge sharing.

“Being part of the Commonwealth as an Accredited Organisation will allow us to be guided by, and provide expertise, to The Commonwealth on pressing national issues such as chemical pollution and climate change. We look forward to this new interaction with the Commonwealth.”

Professor Neil Coville from the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa and Past-President of Commonwealth Chemistry.

The accreditation will enhance Commonwealth Chemistry’s ability to:

  1. Facilitate cross-border research collaborations
  2. Promote educational exchange and professional development opportunities
  3. Advocate for evidence-based policymaking in Commonwealth countries
  4. Support early-career researchers and promote diversity in the chemical sciences

As an Accredited Organisation, Commonwealth Chemistry will participate in Commonwealth meetings, contributing scientific insights to high-level discussions on global issues. This new status is anticipated to create more opportunities for chemists from across the Commonwealth to engage in international scientific discourse and access resources for advancement in their fields.
